WC9IN/WLGMRS 5th Annual Summer Cookout
Event Details:
This years event will be held at Prophetstown State Park in West Lafayette, IN on Saturday July 25th from 1-10 PM.
We are excited to announce that Tippecanoe Amateur Radio Association (TARA) and Midwest GMRS will be co-hosting this year as well.
Everyone is invited to join us! Amatuer Radio, GMRS, or just want to come hang out.. all are welcome!
We will be providing the main food, please see sign up sheet to see what sides or drinks are needed.
We will also be covering the gate fees under a special event and there will be a list taken at the gate.
If you want to cover your own gate fee, that is perfectly fine. In state vehicles is $8 and out of state is $16.
If you have a Indiana State Park pass, please use that for entry instead of putting your vehicle on the list at the gate.

We will be monitoring the talk-in frequencies:
HAM: RX: 444.725, TX: 449.725 PL 173.8 for TX/RX
HAM EVENT REPEATER: RX: 445.725, TX: 440.725 DPL 703 for TX/RX
GMRS: RX: 462.650, TX: 467.650 DPL 664 for TX/RX
Remember.. This is a State Park. Don't speed through the park and read the signs. The park is fully reserved that weekend, expect a lot of people around.
Event starts at 1 PM at the Blazingstar Shelter, located 1.8 Miles on the right after entering gate. (See map below)

We will have a couple HF stations set up, 1 for POTA and a Special Event station in celebration of Amelia Earhart's Birthday under callsign W9E.
Don't have your General license? You can get on the air under one of the club callsigns and try out HF for the first time!
GMRS Foxhunt at 5 PM
This is a training exercise to track down a RF signal using directional finding antennas and handheld radios. Whether you have done this before or would like to learn, this is a great opportunity and we love to have fun with it.
The frequency we will use will be on GMRS but anyone can participate. NO VEHICLES!
Go solo or pair up as a team, awards will be handed out at the end.
